Rental car can be a big vacation expense if you are traveling on budget. Getting the best deal on the transportation is very important to keeping your vacation fun while staying within budget.

One way to keep costs as low as possible is to choose the smallest, most economical car you and your family are comfortable with. Choosing a compact, subcompact or economy car makes sense on a number of levels. For one thing, such budget rental cars are generally less pricey to rent in the first place.

The other important consideration, however, is a gas mileage. You as the renter of the car will be responsible for keeping it gassed up, including topping off the tank before returning it. Buying a car that gets great mileage will definitely help your travel budget stretch farther.

My theory is a real traveler is able to discover interesting things even in the most unlikely of places. Well, Buffalo probably hasn't made the “top travel destinations” list for a while, but I have been doing some research on it and I thought it's high time to explore Buffalo, the closest American city to Toronto, just south of Niagara Falls and right across the Fort Erie border.

So my fellow travel and architecture aficionado Shauna and I headed out early yesterday morning to make the 2 hour trek to Buffalo. We picked the Fort Erie border crossing and fortunately it wasn't very busy at all.

Parking in an airport parking lot, especially in the busy Newark Liberty International Airport, is supposed to rid the passenger of the stress and inflexibility of travelling to and from the airport. However, the presence of airport security is sometimes not enough to make sure that your vehicle is safe. Here are some things to remember before leaving your car in the parking lot.
Find a lot number that is not near the edge of the parking lot. Make sure that it is away from where there are hedges or trees. Look for a place that is as near the area where you can wait for the free shuttle service.
Look for a lot number which can be easily scanned by the camera. Look for the presence of the camera and do not park directly under it. Make sure that there is some distance which the eye of the security camera can easily scan your vehicle.
Choose an area where there is light. Some lots are too far away from the light post; choose an area which is will lit at night.
Do not leave anything valuable in the car. Make sure that all your things are secured. Ask the security personnel if it is wise to hand over to them the pertinent papers for the vehicle, like car insurance policy.
Even if all your valuables are out make sure that nothing is left inside which can be seen from outside the window. If a stranger does look inside all they see are the seats and the steering wheel, nothing else, not even a piece of paper.
If you have a camera, be it a cell phone camera or a digital camera; make sure that you take a photo of your vehicle where the lot number it is parked at is easily visible.
Do not forget to set your alarm to the maximum security code before your leave your car. That may be the only alarm that could save your car from vandalism and theft.

With regard to the four wheel drive carry all, it burst out of the cool and dark forest after rocking down the rotted jungle track emerging into the bright coastal sunlight. We were faced by another one in the Great Barrier Reef just 10 miles offshore after leaving behind one of the great natural wonders of the world which is the Daintree rain forest. When it comes to northern Queensland, it is one of the least developed regions along's tropical northeast coast where two wonders are located side by side. Today we went to the swampland at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Jean Lafitte was a convicted privateer, who won his freedom by helping Andrew Jackson defeat the British in the Battle of New Orleans with his fellow buccaneers. The Barataria Preserve, named after Lafitte's band of men is over 2000 acres of wetland, swamps marshes, etc. Swamp tours by boat are available there. But there are also eight miles of boardwalk which wind through the area. Some of the trails are closed due to the hurricanes and storms which came through the area. The high water and winds tore up parts of the boardwalk. Hurricane Katrina did major damage to the Historical Park. Do not be surprised when you go there.

London to Paris is one of the busiest routes in Western Europe. There are many travel options available between London to Paris like ferry, bus and flights but you cannot find low price, speed, comfort, convenience and efficiency together in any of these. But if you are taking Eurostar or Eurotunnel through Channel Tunnel then you can find all these in one journey.

Construction of Channel Tunnel was proposed in mid-1800's which was stopped by political turmoil. A second attempt was made in 1970's to start construction of this tunnel but there were no results. Finally in 1988 the proposal was accepted by both governments and the construction started. Channel tunnel was completed in 1994 and thus a link from London to Paris was made through English Channel.
